The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is a foundational program that equips students with essential knowledge and skills in the field of pharmacy. This profession is integral to healthcare, focusing on the science of preparing, formulating, and dispensing medicines derived from both natural and synthetic sources. The curriculum includes the study of drug identification, selection, pharmacological actions, preservation, combination, analysis, standardization, and safe distribution. It also emphasizes the ethical and effective use of medicines to treat and prevent diseases. Completing this course is the minimum requirement to become a registered pharmacist.

The course spans 2 years, followed by a 3-month practical hospital training after the Board Examination.


Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Pass in 10+2 / P.D.C / Intermediate or its equivalent.
  • Science stream with Vocational Higher Secondary Certificate (VHSC) in science subjects.
  • Any degree or qualification recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.

Age

  • No age limit for admission into the D.Pharm course.
